Session Two Sees Thirteen Women Step Up
Many of the players had been to the previous session but were also joined by three more new faces. One of these Maria Smith, explains why she decided to come along " I decided to take up women's rugby to improve my overall fitness and test myself at learning new skills. Also I've enjoyed the social side, everyone is so genuine and welcoming, it's so nice to be part of such a lovely group."
The players started off the session with rugby specific warm ups followed by a fun activity to work on their passing and catching skills, whilst getting to know each other. This led into some games to develop the players movement, passing and communication and this culminated in advancing the rucking they'd started to learn in the first session. Some really good development in these areas was on display.
Chloe Parry said "I joined because I needed something to focus my attention to, rather than my mental health and this is a great outlet for me to keep busy and surround myself with people. I really enjoyed it and rugby is definitely something worth thinking about progressing, for me."
The next session will be held at Hollybush on the 14th July at 7pm.
Cherry Davies who attended both sessions has said why she will be returning again, "I thoroughly enjoyed it, I am coming along again as you're made to feel welcome, regardless of ability and it's definitely going to help boost fitness and wellbeing."
